Tailor-made for specific sports
Sport is healthy and keeps us fit - but it exerts great strain on our feet and joints. For example, mountain bikers often complain of numb feet after a downhill race. For inline skaters and downhill skiers, the feet are under purely static strain - they cannot flex naturally. Using templates showing the patterns of strain for specific sports, the special multi-layered construction of the insole is milled - this means that the foot is guided into specific positions, supported and cushioned and so the whole body is protected.
Designs and uses
These orthopedic foot orthoses are specifically designed for certain sports: golf, inline skating, mountain biking, downhill skiing and football The various forces and specific stresses that occur and are exerted on the foot and so also on the rest of the body are all taken into account when the 4 or 5 layers of the insole are milled, using CAD. The professional line milled sports orthoses interact with the particular sports footwear and can be inserted in any footwear with a removable sole at least 3-5 mm thick.
Only available from medical retailers
Professional line milled sports orthoses are blank templates. They are therefore only available from a medical retailer – an orthotist. The orthotist will take all the necessary measurements of the foot and diagnose the status of the foot using digital measurement technology, imprint foam/ink imprint or physical examination. Following this measurement process, the orthotist will then process the template to produce a custom-made foot orthosis, taking the relevant footwear into account. With foot orthoses like this, the sports footwear and the orthosis become a tailor-made whole.
