In cases of osteoarthritis, arthritis, injuries, excessive strain, or irritation in the area of the carpometacarpal and metacarpophalangeal joint of the thumb, RhizoLoc OA provides targeted immobilization to alleviate pain. Thanks to its self-engaging Velcro velour wrap and the anatomically contoured plastic brace, the orthosis provides great stabilization and supports the thumb in a natural, relieving position. The strap system ensures the orthosis remains securely in position during all everyday activities without restricting grasping movements.

Soft, flexible edges increase the wearing comfort of this lightweight thumb orthosis, and perforations let sufficient air reach your skin. All materials are robust, waterproof and easy-care, allowing you to safely wear the orthosis when washing your hands or doing the dishes: simply dry it afterwards. A second thumb strap is included so you can switch them regularly to prevent germ development because of moisture.

RhizoLoc OA is available for the right or left hand and in two sizes each. Once your medical specialist has adapted the straps to perfectly suit your needs, the user-friendly closure system with eyelet makes donning and doffing easy – even with one hand. A small symbol of a hand on the inside helps with orientation.

Indications

  • Post-operative (e.g. after arthroplasty)
  • Functional conditions (excessive strain, in cases of recurring joint misalignments etc.)
  • Irritation (chronic, acute, post-traumatic, post-operative)

Care instructions:

Never expose the product to direct heat (e.g. heaters, sunlight, in your car, etc.) because this may
cause damage to the material. This can impair the effectiveness of the product.

Regular care guarantees the ideal effectiveness of the product.

  1. Please close all fasteners and handwash the orthosis at 30 °C using mild detergent. All components can stay on the orthosis during washing.
  2. The textile thumb strap will not stick when it is damp; therefore, after washing, use the second wrap that is included in the delivery. As soon as the other strap has dried, it can be used again.
  3. The product is not suitable for tumble drying. Use a towel instead or leave the orthosis to air dry.
